How we can interpret theories the way we want to.

Tomorrow I will take the final exam of this semester on the course Theory, sport and society. Many theorists, theories and subjects can be studied, and however abstract they may seem, they all definitely hold, at least some, truth within our current world.

Take for example Norbert Elias. According to his figuration theory, society is a figure, a network of human beings that are interdependent on one another. The figure consists of tensions and balances that come along with these interdependent relations. All interactions in the network are constructed by the individuals, who are not passively going through all kind of processes, but who are processes themselves.
