First of all, I have to say that time has flown so fast and I cannot believe that we are almost done with our first academic year. Actually we were talking about that today during our lunch break and we all were saying that it feels like we just started our studies here in Jyväskylä. Though, if I take a bit closer look what we have done during these both semesters, I realize that we have done so many things and we have gone through so many deadlines 😉
The second semester has been slightly different compared to the first one. During the first semester we had a great amount of classes and it was sometimes a bit challenging to combine my lives in Helsinki and in Jyväskylä. When it comes to living in two cities, the spring semester has been a lot easier. One possible reason for this might be that the structures of the courses have been different; now we have more courses where the emphasis is on paper work unlike last semester we had more study modules where the classes played a bigger role.
During this semester we have been able to choose more optional studies and we have had only few compulsory classes. I think it is nice because this way students can influence by themselves what do they want to study even more and where they want to put the emphasis on. For instance, I have chosen some courses from Jyväskylä University of Business and Economics and I am planning to do my minor (which is optional in our program) in Leadership Management.
It has been awesome to have a great variety of courses and different kind of lecturers. We have had visiting lecturers as well and it has been extremely interesting. Some of them have been from abroad and some of them for example from Finish companies. I definitely feel like I have got new insights and ideas for the future.
Coffee break with Charlotta, Emilia and Laura 🙂

Have a nice spring!
