In this blog the students and staff of the Master’s Degree Programme in Sport Management and Health Promotion (previously MDP in Sport Science and Management) are writing about their experiences in studying in an international group of students and getting to know the interesting fields of Sport Management and Health Promotion.
The Master’s Degree Programme in Sport Management and Health Promotion at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, is a two-year international master’s programme educating students to obtain both the theoretical and practical skills required in the dynamic field of sport and wider society of today.
The key issues to be addressed in the programme are:
- Public, private and civic sector activities within the areas of sport management and health promotion
- Globalisation and locality of sport and health issues
- Sport and health within leisure, tourism, environment and culture
These topics will be explored from the multidisciplinary perspectives of sport management, sociology, planning and health promotion, preparing students to enter the workplace with a valuable insight into the prevalent needs of the sport, health and leisure cultures of modern times.

Full Time Duration: 2 years (120 ECTS credits)
